Katyayani Verticillium is a biopesticide that contains the spores and mycelial fragments of an entomopathogenic fungus called Verticillium lecanii. This fungus has mycoparasitic action on rust and powdery mildew fungi, making it an effective biocontrol agent. Here are the key details about Katyayani Verticillium:

Mode of Action: Katyayani Verticillium infects all stages of insects, including eggs, larvae, pupae, nymphs, and adults. The spores attach to the insect's cuticle or integuments and germinate, penetrating the insect's body. Once inside, the fungus's hyphae proliferate in the insect's body, causing mortality through various mechanisms, including chemical, mechanical, water loss, and nutrient loss effects. The insect's body becomes covered with mycelium and spores, which can lead to subsequent infections. Additionally, toxins called destruxins produced by this fungus contribute to insect mortality.

Most Effective Against: Katyayani Verticillium is highly effective against sucking pests such as Aphids, Scales, Thrips, Whiteflies, Red spider mites, Leaf hoppers, and Mealy bugs across a wide range of crops. It is particularly effective against Coffee green scales. This biopesticide is eco-friendly and helps maintain ecological balance by controlling pest populations.

Dosage and Method of Application:

• Soil Application: Mix 3–5 kg of Katyayani Verticillium with 200 kg of organic manure and apply uniformly to moist soil for an area of 1 acre. For tree crops, mix 20 g with 1 kg of organic manure and apply at the base of the trees.

• Foliar Spray: Mix 10 kg of Katyayani Verticillium in 500 liters of water per hectare and spray it on the foliage during evening hours. Ensure that the spray solution directly targets the pests, especially on the undersides of the leaves.

• Drip Irrigation: Katyayani Verticillium can be mixed at a rate of 20 g per liter of water. After filtering, it can be incorporated into the soil through the drip irrigation system, either during the pre-planting or post-planting stage. It is recommended to apply it in the early morning or late evening hours.
